Meet the team
We are a professional group of teachers, head teachers, parents and techies in 6 different countries. All of us are passionate about teaching and learning, and some of us are crazy about technology too. Together we have created InfoMentor which provides simple solutions to everyday problems that crop up in education life. Take a look at each profile to find out more.
Andy is our Head of Pedagogical Services with extensive experience in education leadership across a range of socially challenging diverse schools in varying locations. His experience includes differing age ranges including secondary, middle, primary and junior schools. He is passionate about improving and making positive changes in education. Andy is competitive and a bit of a sportsman, enjoying playing rugby, badminton as well as climbing mountains and walking his two large dogs.
Andy is our internal sales representative with a strong background in account management and customer service. Andy is a bit of a singer songwriter and a Star Wars fanatic. When he isn't in work you can be sure to find him browsing movie trailers or playing the guitar. Andy also loves being outdoors whether it's going out for a run or sitting around a campfire.
Dale is a very competent and conscientious web developer and has many years of experience in the fast paced world of web technologies. Whenever he gets time to peel himself away from family life and his keyboard, he can be found throwing himself down rocky trails on his mountain bike.
Frances originally studied Fine Art at university before going on to complete her PGCE in 2003. She spent 8 years teaching in primary schools in the South West before joining the team at InfoMentor. In her spare time she enjoys swimming, road biking, reading a good book and will never say no to a nice piece of chocolate.
James studied physics at the University of Kent, and got into programming during this time. He enjoys writing code in his spare time, and has created a variety of games and utility apps. When he’s not coding, he likes to spend time working on and making scale models of ships, and going on long walks up onto Dartmoor with his 2 dogs.
Jon studied Computer Systems and Networks at University and enjoyed learning programming in his spare time. Ultimately these two interests led him to the role of back-end developer which he is passionate about. In his spare time he loves playing table tennis and aspires to represent the county one day. Jon also enjoys going for a long run, but even more so the huge meal after!
Josh is a Front end developer and spends his time bringing InfoMentor’s User Interface (UI) to life. He enjoys surfing some waves and likes a good cup of coffee, however, he does have a real dislike of golf.
Kelly takes care of both the office Administration and Technical Support. She graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in History and French in 2008. Since graduating she has worked in retail, hospitality, recruitment, and the charity sector. In her spare time she enjoys singing, the theater, modern Jive and Ceroc dancing, (she even coaches it sometimes). She loves good food and good wine in good company, and if you ask her nicely she might even tell you about her sword-fighting days.
Mel studied Internet Computing at Exeter University and is our Analyst guru in software implementation and support. Her hobbies include cycling and when not analysing software, she's often researching the bottom of the ocean bed scuba diving.
Nick studied Multimedia Computing at Plymouth University, and has over 17 years' experience in web design and development. At home Nick loves taking on DIY projects, including wood carving restoration and landscape design. When not honing his craftsmanship skills he enjoys walking on Dartmoor, when time allows.
Sheryl is our passionate tester. You could say that testing appeals to her explorative nature and critical mind. She is known for her musical talent, as a Flutist. If her other passions of being a rambler and a foodie were talents, she would win that competition, no questions asked.
Simon studied Business Information Technology at Gloucestershire University; he also holds an APM qualification in Project Management. In his spare time he enjoys football (both watching and playing), motor sports and going to the gym. He also enjoys spending time with his family, even if that does often mean being bossed around by his young daughter.
Tim has gathered valuable experience in various quality assurance disciplines, including testing defence geographic information systems and broker systems within the insurance industry. His hobbies include creative writing and discovering new music. He’s also a keen cyclist and (usually) covers enough miles to excuse his passion for good food and wine.
Tony graduated with a degree in back-end development and has years of experience in business and education software, along with the practical understanding of how schools operate through his position as a school governor. Outside of work his roles include being a father of two, a Code Club leader, and a lover of Nordic Noir.
